A salinity sensor system for estuary studiesSpringer Science and Business Media LLC - - 2008
In this paper, we present the design, development and testing of a salinity
sensor system for estuary studies. The sensor was designed keeping size, cost
and functionality in mind. The system will be using the LabVIEW program
developed by our lab to download and display the data. The microprocessor design
of our salinity sensor and a description of our LabVIEW mapping tool are
presented below. Our... hiện toàn bộ

New surface acoustic wave gas sensor of the mass-sensitive type sensitive to the thermal properties of gasesSENSORS, 2002 IEEE - Tập 1 - Trang 372-375 vol.1
The basic principles of a new surface acoustic wave (SAW) gas sensor are
described. Being essentially a sensor of the mass-sensitive type, the proposed
device possesses certain features of the thermometric SAW sensors and is not
only sensitive to the vapors of volatile substances, but capable of detecting
gases by their thermal properties as well. This principles consists of making a
certain delay... hiện toàn bộ

Temperature dependences of fibre-optical sensors of mechanical valuesProceedings. 3rd Annual Siberian Russian Workshop on Electron Devices and Materials - Tập 1 - Trang 3 pp. - 2002
In the work the temperature dependences of the fibre-optical sensor of
mechanical values are explored. The examinations of influence of temperature
changes on the transmitting characteristic of FOS were spend. As a sensing
device the silicon membrane with width h1=40 micron with strong centre by width
h3=200 micron was used. The measuring were spend at temperatures T1=20/spl
deg/C, T2=60/spl deg/C... hiện toàn bộ

Multitarget miss distance and its applicationsProceedings of the Fifth International Conference on Information Fusion. FUSION 2002. (IEEE Cat.No.02EX5997) - Tập 1 - Trang 149-155 vol.1
The concept of miss distance-Euclidean, Mahalanobis, etc.-is a fundamental,
far-reaching, and taken-for-granted element of the engineering theory and
practice of single-sensor, single-target systems. One might expect that
multisensor, multitarget information fusion theory and applications would
already rest upon a similarly fundamental concept-namely, miss distance between
multi-object systems (i.... hiện toàn bộ

Biologically inspired auditory sensing system interfaces on a chipSENSORS, 2002 IEEE - Tập 1 - Trang 669-674 vol.1
Describes the current effort of creating cooperative analog/digital signal
processing (CADSP) systems towards auditory sensor and signal processing
applications. We address resolution issues that affect the choice of signal
processing algorithms arriving from an analog sensor. We discuss current analog
circuit approaches towards the front-end signal processing. We discuss our
current IC approaches... hiện toàn bộ

Analogic fiber optic position sensor with nanometric resolutionSENSORS, 2002 IEEE - Tập 2 - Trang 926-930 vol.2
This paper describes a miniature analogic position sensor. This sensor is
dedicated to high resolution displacement measurement (10 nm) between two
positions over a long range (a few millimeters). The working principle of the
sensor is presented as well as experimental results.

Compensation of packaging asymmetry in a 2-D wind sensorSENSORS, 2002 IEEE - Tập 2 - Trang 1256-1259 vol.2
The influence of packaging on the behaviour of a 2-D thermal wind sensor has
been investigated. Non-ideal packaging increases the thermal asymmetry in the
sensor, which in turn distorts its output signal. Such distortion can be
compensated for by adjusting the heat distribution in the sensor. Using a
combination of CAD modeling techniques, expressions have been derived from which
the compensating ... hiện toàn bộ

Ship wake detection in SAR images: a segmentation-based approachIEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium - Tập 1 - Trang 110-112 vol.1
This paper deals with the derivation of a fully automatic and reliable ship wake
detector (SWD), which can operate in conjunction with a ship detector scheme
(SD) for ship traffic control against non-homogeneous sea background in SAR
images. A novel segmentation-based technique is introduced for ship wake
detection, which overcomes the drawbacks suffered by standard techniques
operating in non-hom... hiện toàn bộ

Stabilizing controller design for distributed sensor networks with time-varying delaysSENSORS, 2002 IEEE - Tập 2 - Trang 1473-1478 vol.2
In this paper a novel method to determine stochastic mean-square (m-s) stability
of sensor-supervisory node loops of a distributed sensor network (DSN) is
presented. It enables one to explicitly account for the transition
characteristics of time-varying delays that are encountered in communication
networks via Markov process models. This results in less conservative controller
parameters. For stat... hiện toàn bộ
